no low beam on right side
2000 Jetta VR6
My left low-beam does not work. I know it is not the bulb as it is new and I switched them and the problem remained on the left.
ideas as to the likely cause?
Oh, and I lost the lock to the light down below. Can you believe it? ARG!! are they easy to find and cheap?

RE: no low beam on right side
that's what I said. I switched them and therefore know it is not the bulbs.
Even if someone knows whichcolor wire is responsible for low beam that could help.
Also, how the hell do you remove, not the light from the head light, but the other end? I can't for the life of me figure that out. I tried using my screw driver and snapped off that little plastic bit.
Finally, could it be as simple as a fuse? That doesn't make sense to me since
the problem was intermittent (and low-beam is fully off now)
it only applies to low-beam. Wouldn't a fuse apply to the entire left light?
(just wanted to add, I just swapped fuses and the problem remaind so it is not the fuse)

RE: no low beam on right side
CHiltons or other repair manuals have wiring diagrams in them. Look and see if the wire is chaffed, or burnt, or anything wrong. That plastic piece does suck, I think you squeeze and turn, if it's what I think you have. Took me like 30 min just to figure that stupid thing out.
