Default No Key (error code) 2013 Jetta

Hi Guys,

This has happened to me now twice and not sure what the heck is going on, or what I have to do to fix it. I own a 2013 Jetta. I have went to start it with my main key/remote (used daily), and it starts and shuts right off. A code comes up that reads "Key Error". The vehicle will start with my spare key (full key with remote), as normal. What in the world could be causing this? Affraid that I am going to get stuck somewhere? Is it possible to get just a regular key made with out the remote unit on it? Will that even help. I am worried that I won't have both keys with me and I will be stuck!!!!!

Thank you for your advice,

Neil

Do you know the error code that's coming back?

Has someone been pressing the remote away from the vehicle?

Interesting. I had the same issue with one of my keys. Then the next time I tried it, it was fine.
