Default need quote on jetta repairs

i'm looking to buy a used VW, and there's a '97 jetta i'm interested in. it's 5 speed, very clean all over except the front passenger wheel bearing is starting to hum and it needs a speed sensor (speedometer is intermittent as of last month). the guy told me it would cost $100-150 for both repairs, is that accurate? anyone know about how much it would cost to get those two things repaired? thanks

Check Germanautoparts.com. They have good prices on parts for VWs. You could probably replace the speed sensor. Are you mechanically inclined?? The wheels bearings arn't hard to replace. But, if you don't feel comfortable doing it, just take to a shop where you won't get ripped off.
Hope this helps....
