Momentary complete power loss.

Hey all,
I have an 05 jetta gli and its completely lost power a few times. Couple times while driving everything just shuts off for a second and then it comes back. Also a couple times i've gone to start the car and nothing. I've just turned the battery cable connection and it seems to start. The cables are connected tightly. When driving it hasnt lost power long enough to reset the clock.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. Attachment 2523

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

You don't say where you live, please add that to your spec?

Thanks. Will there be error codes if the check engine light has never gone on?

I'm in Victoria BC.
Cheers

There will always been error codes even if the MIL light doesn't come on.

Your in the US goto AutoZone as they do a free scan in the hope you buy something of them.

Thanks, i'm actually in Canada, no auto zone. I do have a reader though, i'll see if mine shows anything.
Cheers

Sorry I thought BC was a US state without Googling it.

You still need your motor scanning and post any error codes found?
