I am looking into buying a 2012-2016 Jetta possible 5 speed manual. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if they come with cruise control. I make constant long drives and would rather not have to sit the whole time on the gas pedal. I used to do this with a 97 wrangler I used to drive. I would rather buy a 5 speed but if they don't have cruise then I'll probably end up going with the automatic version.

 

The specifications at edmunds.com show that cruise control is included with the 2015 Jetta S and 2016 Jetta 1.4T S but not with earlier years. However Apple Carplay and Android Auto were added in 2016 so I wouldn't buy an earlier version if I were expecting to use the car for long drives. Carmax shows 2016 Jettas with manual transmissions for $18-20K. A new 2022 Jetta S manual lists for $21,360 so I'd consider a new one first. If you're using it for long drives, consider the Driver Assistance Package ($995) which adds Adaptive Cruise Control. Many 2021 Jettas are still available.

 

I have a 2012 GLi 6 speed manual and it does have cruise control.
