My first post here so hello to everyone.

My question is about the locking on my 2007 Jetta. I have just got the car (without the booklet unfortunately) and wanted to make sure that I am deadlocking the car properly. I have been doing a couple of Google searches and they turned up that if I press lock once, that is deadlocking.

When I do this single action, the driver door red light stays on solid for around maybe ten seconds then it continues at spaced flashes.

I would just like to check that this means everything is working and it is deadlocked properly!
