Know any VW "slang"?

I was at the dealership with my fiance and her 01 Jetta, it has a clunk of sorts on start up and the dealer said that it was the barrel runner. Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm searching the Bently manual as we speak, but nothing so far.

I couldn't find a thing, and I am 99% sure that he said barrel runner. He said that we could chat with one of the mech to better explain. It was the service manager (I believe) that was telling us this. I'm skeptical myself....it could be the muffler bearings that need tightening.

RE: Know any VW "slang"?

yeah, i still dont get what he's talking about. the only things i could think of would be the barrel referring to the throttle body and the runner referring to the intake manifold. but that would go into the performance world, like a short runner intake and such. i say you go in there and talk to a tech, and have him show/explain to you in better terms, not some made up crap.

and make sure they check the blinker fluid
