I bought a 2000 Jetta VR6 used and it only came with what I found out later was the valet key. I found a place online to buy a OEM keyless remote for $75 with programming instructions. The problem is that I don't have the "dead" remote to remove the chip that allows the car to run. My question is can I remove the chip from the valet key? I would rather have a key with a remote than a valet key if I had to choose. Please let me know whatever information you have on this subject..... I don't have $200 - 300 to buy one from the dealer.
