Jetta's overheating

My poor Jetta is overheating. It's a 2002 with the 2.0 engine. The problems started Thursday night. I was driving down the road, and the air conditioner turned warm. A few minutes later, I noticed that the engine temperature was about 3/4 of the way up. I pulled over to let it cool, then kept going. The problem continued. Since then, I have replaced the thermostat and checked the hoses, but it's still overheating. I have read about the wheel on the water pump breaking, so I check it when I had the thermostat off. It felt fine to me. Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Jetta's overheating

you checked the water pump and all the fins were intact? maybe look into your fans, they may not be working, or your radiator could be plugged. try flushing the radiator, if that doesnt work...hhhhhmmmmm check the vortex? cuz thats all i got..haha, sorry man
