Default Jetta Newbie

Hello Everybody!
I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself to all of you.

I currently bought a 06' Jetta the Value editiion which has about 150 hp's I believe. I have never owned a jetta and do not know a lot of things about them. I am hoping i can learn some stuff from this board and from you guys about the 06 Jetta and some of the possible mods that can be done to them.

First off i was wondering if you guys could explain to me the whole classifying process of the jettas how some people classify them as MKV I, II,III... etc..

Hey, first off congrats on your new purchase. This will make you a Volkswagen enthusist. I currently own a Jetta GLI VR6 MKIV. I previously owned a Jetta III GLS. The MK refers to the body style type. MKI was the first gen., MKII the second and so on. Your jetta is a 5th gen body style, hence the MKV

MK I START - 1991
MK II 1992 - 1994
MK III 1995 - 1999.5
MK IV 2000 - 2005

from what i know those are the years of them. (correct me if i am wrong) and like he siad above "its mainly the body style differance"
