Jetta Error Codes and Wont Start
I love my 2003 Jetta but lately its been one repair after another.
I’m trying to figure out the starting problems that are killing me lately. At first I thought it was the fuel pump, but when I cycle the ignition, I can hear the winding up of the pump, so I've ruled that out. I moved toward the "spark" question and replaced the plugs/wires, to no avail. I also swapped the fuel pump relay, and the problem is still there. The car has 103,000 miles on it I took it to Auto Zone last night and got 7 error codes pop up, each cylinder is reading a low fuel mixture (4 codes), and I'm told that injector cleaner might help that. I also got an O2 sensor error. P0261 – Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low P0267 – Cylinder 3 Injector Circuit Low P0270 – Cylinder 4 Injector Circuit Low P0264 – Cylinder 2 Injector Circuit Low P0443 – Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit P0037 – H02S Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 1 Sensor 2) P0418 – Secondary Air Injection System Relay “A” Circuit Malfunciton Last night, the battery was dead (partially because I drained it while trying to start it), but when I jumped it, the car started right up and ran fine. I put injector cleaner in and drove about 20 miles, car ran great. Got home and tried to restart it, and it started right up..then came back 20 minutes later and the car just cranked and cranked but wouldnt turnover. |
