Default jetta electrical failure

2000 jetta, 148,000 miles, yesterday the power windows, moonroof, interior light, and the remote key fob all stopped working. checked the fuses , all good. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Not cool... had that happen in my Saab years ago... rain water got in somewhere it wasnt supposed to hen i parked on a hill. somehow that jacked my electrical. but once it dried out it worked again. doubt that helps at all but its the closest problem ive had.

ok, some maybe good news, my son (who drives the car) fiddled around with the trunk light and whola, the door locks now work. then he manually reset the key fob and the windows went up, still do not work but at least they are up. dome light is out, trunk release does not work and the check engine light is still on. just gets weirder every time.

This is just a stab in the dark, but did you check for coolant migration? It's a condition where the coolant migrates up the sensor wire into the wire harness and causes lots of electrical problems. It made my speedometer very erradic among other unconfirmed problems. I hope this isn't your problem, it is really expensive to fix.
