Hi

I have a 2003 Jetta, when driving home today I noticed a rubbing noise coming from the back wheel as it's turning. I took the wheel off and I think the problem is the brakes. The noise is there wether the brakes are pressed or not.

Here are some pictures, I think I need new brake pads ?

Yes you need some new rear brake pads but I'm not sure the pads are causing this noise you have unless they are on the steel backing.

Have you checked to see if the inner plastic fenders may be loose? This happened on both my front ones on my '04 Jetta GLI
