Jetta 02' Knock Sensor/Check Engine Light
My 2002 Jetta check engine light is on. I took it to a mechanic and the issue was a knock sensor code. Is this expensive to replace? Is this an easy fix? I need to get my check engine light off in order to pass New Hampshire state inspection. Please help!

It's a pretty strait forward fix. 50 to 75 bucks if you do it yourself. Might be expensive if you take it to a mechanic.

Could you direct me in how to change out the knock sensor? I would appreciate it.

I can. What engine do you have?

1.8Turbo

They are both located right under the intake manifold to the left and right. Just disconnect the harness and remove the bolt. If you don't know which one it is you can take a multimeter and set it to continuity and if there isn't continuity the sensor is good if it does it's bad.
