Irritating problem..please help
 

Car specs: 1995 Jetta III GL, 2.0L ABA, 5 speed, stock w/a cheap ebay intake. General maint done about 1000 miles ago(plugs, cap, rotor, wires), MAF replaced about 3-4 years ago, distributor replaced about the same 3-4 years ago.

I have a hesitation/stuttering problem that happens anywhere between 2k and 3k, but I just noticed it is going from about 1800 to just above 3100 RPM. It is also getting a little worse. Also still has a high idle every now and then, at about 1600 RPM...really irritating!!

There might be a light at the end, I got a CEL today, but everytime I try to pull codes by jumping the pins...NOTHING...any idea what can cause this??!! This car is driving me up a wall here! Any help would be really appreciated!!
