Ok so i bought an intake kit at Advance Auto (i despise Advance but they had the kit) that said it was Universal, but apparently only universal for Japanese cars. What i would like to know is where i can purchase an intake kit for my '96 Jetta GL with the 2.0. Also, while my friend an i were attempting to install the "universal" intake kit, we noticed that the factory intake was a bit strange. It had the normal hose, but then it had another that went from the bottom of the intake box to the back of the engine...what is this? Any and all info you can give is greatly appreciated.

 

Yea that smaller hose goes to another connection, I'm not sure but it might be a breather of some sort. There's a lot of sites you could use..Ebay, eurosportacc, performance-cafe, and fastaddiction...try those there's a crap load of sites to look at.

i got a custom made cold air intake from ebay ......works great just make sure u get k&n filter chromeairintakes.......and yea its the air breather......u gonna need a little air breather on that one .........
