How good are older jettas?

I'm looking into getting a 95-96 Jetta with auto tranny. How reliable are they?

the early mk3s are very unreliable 94-96 were terrible years for volkswagen, but alot of the problems were solved in 97 luckily the car kept the same body style from 94-98.if your looking for that body style jetta i highly recommend at least a 97!
