Help with 97 jetta shifting problems
I've had it for several months now its a 97 Jetta GT auto and its been to a couple shops and no one has an idea. I've heard that the 97 and 98 Jetta's along with Audi's have all had similar electrical problems. It sucks because this car statically is good on gas and its getting like 19 20 because of this problem.
The Problem:
when it shifts it takes like for ever to shift, especially into 2nd and 3rd.
some one thought that it was electrical and I should get some thing that costs like around 1000 bucks, I'm not paying that when i got the car for around that much. Another said that the transmission was broken or something and I needed a new one.
I was wondering if getting a different ECU, because no one can find out how to reset the current one.
If that is the case point me in the right direction or let me know if you know what is wrong that would be much appreciated thank you!

It's no electrical problem. Unless it's been done recently you need to change the trans fluid and filter. If it has been changed or you change it and it's still messed up, put a bottle of Lucas Oil anti-slip trans conditioner in and you should be good.
