headlight buzzer wont go off and interior lights behaviour

has anyone experienced anything like this? (Jetta, 2000, 2.0 ltr, manual transmission)
suddenly the following behaviour appeared all at once: my interior lights (center front cabin and rear passenger door lights) would not shut off when, even though they are set to fade out after a few seconds. my lower driver side door light wont go off, no matter what i do. also, the seatbelt chime wont go off even after i put on my seatbbelt. it'll continue to ring for approximatly 2 minutes, then stop. finally, when i turn on my headlights, the headlight buzzer goes on and will keep ringing no matter what. so now im stuck driving around with a lound buzzer noise if i turn on my headlights. any thoughts? please advise.
