Gas question?
I recently purchased a 2007 jetta 2.5, and of course it does not seem to drive the way it did at the dealer. I do not love the lack of horsepower in this car. I knew it was only 150, however, with the 5 cyl engine the RPMs go up so high I feel like I am going no where. I asked the VW mechanic how I could get more power in my car (when going from 0-20mph) and he suggested using a gas cleaner and super gas instead of regular. The car manual and the dealer stated that the car takes regular unleaded gas. Will using super with a gas cleaner damage my engine??? Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Gas question?
Neither should harm the car but dont waste your money. An engine not calibrated for high octane (premium) fuel will not give you anymore power and if anything can reduce your fuel economy.

RE: Gas question?
i agree about the fuel economy but not as much about the other. i had a 4 cylinder dakota that didnt run so great and it was regular octane, but once i started puting super in it, it ran ten times better and quicker, and like he said gas mileage did suffer. id give it a try couldnt hurt but thats just my two cents
