Foggy Headlights

Hey I have a question my headlights are starting to get quite foggy and gross! Does anyone know of any way to clean them up without having to buy new ones?

Don’t laugh but tooth paste, not the gel but the paste. It just abrasive enough to take off the crud but wont scratch the lens. If that doesn’t work they have this stuff called “flitz”. I’ve never used it but it’s supposed to work. Look for it at the hardware store or the auto store.

i have the same problem on mine...but also the clear whatever layer that is on top has started to peel away too. i went to a glass shop who had a 3 step plastic cleaner that cleans it up great. the original problem...whoever owned the car before me was cleaning the headlights with something that ate away at the film. just be careful.

The best way to get rid of that film is to buff the headlights. Take some rubbing compound and a buffer and clean them up. It works very well. You can do it on your tail lights too and it makes them look that much better as well. It might take a couple times but it should take the film off.

The yellow is like "dead skin", you need to exfoliate the lens...I use 1200 wet sand-paper first, then I buff with a low speed air powered buffer with liquid buffing compound, then finish with fine liquid buffing compound.
Makes the lenses look nearly new.
