Flashing wrench icon in dash?
 

So I am new to the VW scene...

Got a 2006 Jetta 2.5 when I start it up I see a wrench icon flashing in the dash. It goes away after about 10 seconds - should I ignore it?

Also the idle seems a bit high when cold - about 1500 RPM until it has run for about 2 minutes. Is this normal?

Are there any grease fittings on these? I cant find any if there are. On my truck I have to hit 11!
