Hey everyone, I have a question about my 2002 Jetta and I was hoping someone here might be able to help me. The other day I heard a strange whirring noise coming from my car. So I pulled into a gas station and opened the hood and it sounded like it was coming from the two fans towards the front of the car. I researched and found out that this is called the fan shroud. I noticed that when I turned the interior fans off that the noise stopped. I was wondering how much it will cost to get this fixed? And also how important of a component is this to the car?
