Fan/Heater/cold/Hot ***** lights
Hi there,
I'am new to the site as I just purchased a 2001 Jetta. I noticed the red light to the fan/heater ***** (actually the wholerow)don't illuminate. Is this an easy fix? I tried to do a search but no luck. Any help or links would be great.
Thanks

RE: Fan/Heater/cold/Hot ***** lights
its really really easy! youre in luck.
heres what you do.
1. go to your dealer, and tell them you want the bulb for the climate control panel, they'll figure out what youre tlaking about eventually.
2. get some needle nose pliers and some electric tape, wrap a bit of electric tape around the ends of the pliers so you dont scratch anything up.
3. turn the fan switch to the 2nd position, so that way the the **** is straight up and down. Using the pliers(or your hands if you can) and pull the **** straight out.
4. sitting inside where the **** was will be the little bulb. heres where you have to be very very careful, if the bulb breaks, you are ****ed. gently take the pliers and pull out the bulb. then, put in the new one, and replace the fan switch piece. Turn on your lights, and there ya go! you have light.
if you have trouble, look in the mk 4 guide on www.vwvortex.com, and there is a DIY and i think some pictures. I did mine in the parking lot of the dealer, only takes 5 minutes
