ECU reset

Wondering if anyone has reset their ECU via touching the negative battery cable to the positive. I had a cheap chip on that ran the system rich. I decided that I wanted to run lean, I dropped the fuel pressure 4 psi and my air/fuel gauge is still reading rich. I'm thinking the chip programmed it to run rich. If I do reset it do you think I'll have to take it to the dealer and have it reprogrammed?

Thanks

RE: ECU reset

This "chip" as they called it made a path through the IAT part of the MAF sensor to the ECU. They said it remapped the air/fuel curve to run rich. I suspect it just told the ECU that it was colder than it actually was after I found out it was a "one size fits all" chip. It worked well on my stock setup but, after the mods it was running so rich I had to clean the valves with Seafoam every 2,000 miles. Neadless to say it's gone now but it's still running rich. So mabey erasing the memory is the answer. Or my MAF could be screwed up. I have read that an A/F ratio of 12:8:1 is the way to go. I know it's not a car but my bike was dyna tuned and it runs lean.
