Driver window disappeared !

2005 Jetta. Driving along and the window disappeared from the door. You can hear the motor running when you push the button fore up or down, but the window will not raise up. Please advise problem, thanks.

RE: Driver window disappeared !

you have to take the door panel off the window must have fallen off the lifting point so you have to lower it then sit the window on the lifting point and there should be something to hold it

RE: Driver window disappeared !

Car was still under warranty......took it backto the dealer we bought it from. They had to replace the whole window. They said two pegs that attach to the window broke off. Said that in extream cold weather {which we have had lately} they have a probability to break............fantastic. So much for German engineering. [:@]

RE: Driver window disappeared !

Mine was fixed in 2004. I asked at that time what would happen if it fell down again and they told me that Volkswagen had extended the warranty on that problem for the life of the vehicle. My window fell in again this weekend and the Dealership said they don't think its going to be covered this time since it was already corrected. I'm still waiting to hear what their warranty person finds out. I don't know why they wouldn't cover it - I don't see this happening on other cars; not even American cars! Unfortunately its awfully cold out right now.

RE: Driver window disappeared !

I just checked with my dealer and they did confirm that the window will be covered even though the car has 100,000 miles. They think the issue could be related to more than 1 problem but they still confirm that it will be fixed free of charge. Whew!
