Default disassemble the lower dash?

How hard is it to dismantle then reassemble the dash (i.e. behind the gear shift).
I've lost a coin or tow or three as well as the sprocket that allows the cover to move back in forth, down there.
Be nice to clean it out.

Also how hard is it to remove the stereo, the put it back in?

any online diagrams?

Default RE: disassemble the lower dash?

its very simple.. but first off what year is your jetta? if its an mk3 93-99.5 its extremely easy just time consuming.. (i've done it about 15 times), the lower part of the dash by the arm rest has two screws on each side front and back.. one in front near the gas pedal on drivers side and one on the passnger side by the vent. in the rear the screws are visible when u have both front seats moved up.. just ebcareful of the electrical connections and remove the gearshift etc.. and it just pops right out...

to anser the radio question its even easier.. just get the keys to remove the radio (any auto parts store should have them) and pop em in and the radio comes out...

Default RE: disassemble the lower dash?

hey,
thanks. but my Jetta is a 2000 VR6. does that make things harder?
Do I have to remove the dash before removing the radio?
