cv axle problem

hey everyone i have a 04 jetta 1.8t and my cv axle was bad so these mechs supposedly fixed it by putting a 1.9 TD axle on. i called vw and they said it is the wrong part but these mechs keep insisting that it is fine. but everytime i punch the gas i get a vibration under my car....so can someone help me out on this????

I think they are wrong but, a lot of times a bad cv joint will cause your wheel bearing to go out.

we will see im taking it back to them tomorrow and they are replacing the axle with another one...i hate other people working on my car...but thank you for your help

Did they replace the wheel bearing?

ashleys1.8t 03-26-2009 08:54 PM

yep and that was on the passenger side and the vibration is on the driver side...my sister said she cant feel the vibration on the passenger side and it on does it when i punch the gas...im getting so mad im about to pay the money and take it to VW.

It could still be your other axle.

that is true but they seen that the passenger side one was bad by putting on my lowering springs so why wouldnt they see the other one?

racerx002 03-27-2009 08:30 PM

Did you put on a special swaybar to realign your lowered car?
