car won't accelerate!

ok so heres da problem. when i take off in my vr6 5spd & switch to 2, 3, or 4th gear; sumtimes my car feels like it gets stuck. ill have the gas pedal all the way but the car jus slows down, then suddenly it takes off! At times my epc light and that triangle wid the circle around it light come on. any ideas wat it cud be? appreciate the help! thanx!

sounds like a traction controle problem
