RE: cai installed
some of them come with a shield. I have no problems but I kind of hid mine too.

RE: cai installed
I would reccomend a K&N filter or another oil type filter. It stops water real well and I haven't had any problems with it getting dirty or wet yet.

RE: cai installed
i replced an engine on a vr 6 from a cai hydrolocked the pistons
was kind of neet pulling a head off and seeing the rist pins on the piston twisted the rods far enough you could see them withthe pistons wedged in sideways i think he was haulin a$$ when he hit the water |
RE: cai installed
I don't get how the water hydrolocks the motor. I mean the intakes should be built so that doesn't happen right? Almost every car I owned had one, if there wasn't one built for it, like my probe, I built one!..lol. Never had the problem of water getting in the motor. How does that even happen? Filter down too far, not installed right?

RE: cai installed
the filter was very low and the water was very high lol

RE: cai installed
makes sense..I figured somehow water was sucked through the pipe and into the motor..mmmm

RE: cai installed
just like a straw
or a vacum cleaner |
RE: cai installed
they make water bypass valves for CAIs if you want to be 100% safe but, if you have a tight fit you probably won't be able to get one in there.
