Brake Piston Wont reset

RE: Brake Piston Wont reset
Technically you are supposed to by a new caliper, pushing it back in can cause tears in the seals and definetly shorten the life of the caliper. but if you still wanna push it in you should take the brake line off the back so the fluid has somewhere to go but then you'd have to blead the brakes, otherwise just c-clamp the **** out of it, sometimes they are really tight in there.

You need a calliper reset tool. These callipers screw out as your brakes wear down, the reset tool pushes them back in but when you turn the reset tool it applies pressure just as a C-clamp does but it also will turn the piston as well scewing it back in. Look at the piston on the calliper and you'll see that there are two notches and that is where the reset tool fits into the piston and turns the calliper. Good luck!!

yea .. just put pressure on the caliper with a c-clamp and use channelocks to turn the piston as you keep applying pressure... thats the cheap way to do it.. dont damage the piston boot.. or just go get a 3/8 drive , extension, and the square tool to compress that caliper

if they are the screw type caliper go down to your local parts store and ask them for the tool to trun them back, they should produce some sort of cube looking thing you use with a ratchet and extension. and just turn them back, and youll have all the room in the world.
if not, then like eveyone has said use c clamps. or they make a special tool for that as well.
