Default brake lights out

Hello,
Have an '04 Jetta Diesel and love it. However, this weekend the primary (left and right) brake lights stopped working. The center light still works. I checked the brake switch against a new one, tried the new one, old switch seems to do what it is supposed to do. I did not find any blown fuses. I checked the bulbs and those look fine. They still come on with the headlight switch, just the brake filaments won't light up.

Has anyone seen anything like this before or have any ideas? Thanks.

Default RE: brake lights out

Sounds like you have a wiring issue. Check the wires to the light assemblies,
