Default Blower flap motor control

Hi there,

I have a 2008 Jetta Se. There was an audible vibration coming from behind the glove box so I did some research and the general thinking was that it was something to do with the blower motor etc.

I took the glove box out and discovered that the noise was coming from the motor that opens and closes the blower flap.
It's working but it will not stop running once the flap is fully opened or closed.
The motor slipping gears while trying to move something that couldn't be moved any further is what was causing the vibrations.

Is there a chip or resistor or something that is faulty and not telling this motor to shut off when it's finished it's operation?

Thanks in advance for any help.
