Air Bag Light
 

While trouble shooting intermitment auxillary interior lights, by inspecting all fuses in the fuse box, I successfully turned on the air bag light, I assume by unplugging the air bag fuse. Is there a way I can reset the air bag light without taking it to a volkswagon dealer? I also assume the air bags will still work even though I unplugged the air bag fuse and the light is currently on.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

craig, If you get any answers or insight into this problem...please let me know. I have a similar problem that started after I hooked up a OBD tester to my Jetta. I need to know how to reset or analyze the problem. thanks in advance....Tonebone.

hahaha, i guess Jetta's are notorious for air bag lights being on...i took out my seats to deep clean them and after installing them back into the car, the airbag light came on i'm assuming because i disconnected some wires. i took it to VW to have some routine stuff done and they said they would check it out and reset it. well, they did all the tests and checked it out, but the dumba$$es forgot to reset it!

I'm gonna hook up the OBD tester tomorrow to see if I can re set it with that.I cleared out the computer memory(even though I didn't have any codes in it) after I was done with it, but I'll try again tomorrow. I'm not sure this falls under the OBD system if it has it's own light. We'll see tomorrow.....Tonebone
