Hi all, new to the forum, looking for some quick advice on buying a 97 jetta I'm looking at. It's a diesel 5 speed, GL. I'm looking at picking up this car, I'm in Canada, so I'm expecting a little rust, but I believe overall the car has been well kept. I'm looking for info on bad spots and red flags that would make me think twice about the car. Especially when it comes to rust, since I'm expecting some, I want to know anywhere important places where these rust out. I'm not as concerned with cosmetic issues, but more things that might cause major issues and/or some sort of catastrophic failure, that sort of thing. Thanks!
