98 GLX VR6 Speedo Help
 

I just bought a 98 vr6 5spd and the speedo only works when it wants to the tach does the same thing.My friends 95 gl does the same thing but if he turns the car off and on it works fine.Mine works every other day or sometimes every 3 days.I have replaced the speed sensor and it still doesn't work.I would like any help

sound like you have a short. check the fuses you may have one that is almost burnt or coming out. has the car been wrecked and repaired, maybe had the dash taken out for whatever reason, that is usually the case for something intermittent like you describe does the odometer reset too?

I'm not sure if the dash has been taken out or not I bought the car about 2 weeks ago.The odometer works just fine.Nothing else resets when this happens.However the car does have some light front end damage bumper cover and headlight bucket.Also when this happens the tach needle twitches.I love the car and I got a really good deal on it everything else works on the car no other electric problems.Just this one thing its driving me nuts.once again thank you.
