Default 97 vw jetta clock spring

I recently had the ignition switch changed on a 97 vw jetta. The mechanics that installed it replaced the steering wheel on slightly crooked. I could not get back to them before the weekend so I decided to straighten it myself. To make a long story short, I did not adjust the part that snaps into the clock spring to hold it in place and when I went to turn the wheel to the left I felt resistence and then the airbag light came on and will not go off. My wife took the car to the mechanic and they did a diagnostic check but could only determine that there was something broken. My question is, is there a clock spring for this year and if so, can it be replaced and how? Thanks.
