97 Jetta left 2 doors do not lock
 

New member and I need help, please. I own a 97 Jetta VR6 and the left two doors do not lock. I hear the pump in the trunk running and the left two doors lock but no activity on both doors on the left side. Does anyone know or have the illustrations to the vaccum systems on this car. If someone can tell me anything or suggest anything I would appreciate it.

i had the same thing happen to my last jetta.. from what i was told the locks run off a vaccume line and if one of the lines get cut or break they wont work(not quite sure if it is the real reason though)... when mine broke i just locked them myself though

Sorry Nick I can't help ya,as my locks do the same thing.Sometimes they open and sometimes they don't.LOL Good luck!
