96' Jetta VR6 with evap code appearing.

so heres my headache..
i have a 96 jetta glx with the 2.8l vr6 engine.
my main problem is that when i am stopped in drive my car idles rough and the idle will drop periodically to around 600rpm. my whole car will vibrate for a quick minute from this.
the codes that came up for this were idle control speed, evap and a couple others.
i have replaced the whole throttle body.
now my only code left is the evap leak code.
i heard hissing coming from my gas cap and replaced the cap.
ive had several vacume lines replaced from the vw dealer. (big waste of time and money... 330$ for 3 vacume lines.... i know im a sucker)
now the only thing that i can think of is a sputtering i hear coming from around my driver side back wheel well whenever i turn the car off.
i belive this is my problem...
i used to hear it every once in a while about 3 months ago for a short second.. but now it has grown to happen evertime i shut my car off and lasts for 30sec-1min. i dont know too much about cars so im not sure what it can be... the evap canister?
pleas help with any ideas.
also i have a spectre p4 airfilter on it.
maybe it is allowing too much air in?
when i installed the old air box the check engine light turned off about 80 miles after but shortly came back on.
please help if u can.
2 months and 1000$ later this problem is still giving me a headache

Ok, this is more detailed then your last post. You do have a vacuum leak still. I would check the evap canister, it probably needs to be replaced.

but something tells me its somehwere near the rear driver side wheel well.
and this is my first post :)
