Default 96 Jetta sunroof

Hi, I did a search for my sunroof problem, but did not find any topics for my problem. I recently bought this car 2 weeks ago for $1k. It's the 2.0L 4-cyl, GL. When I press any of the buttons to operate the sunroof, nothing happens. It's as though the switch is disconnected (same goes for the trunk release button). The guy I bought the car off of said it needed a sunroof relay switch, which I have not been able to find this relay in the manual in/around the fuse box. Every fuse is good. Anyone know what I might need to do to fix this minor problem? I don't know much about this car as I'm somewhat transplanting from the off-road world into the smaller vehicle world.

this might be your solution because i know with my 01, the sunroof didnt work and the guy didnt know really why. well it was as simple as i was foolin around takin **** off and puttin it back when i discovered the fuse box in the dashboard to the left of the steering column. you gotta have the door open to get to it. and there was NO FUSE for the sun roof lol, so it could be that or it could be burnt out, check it out man

i wish you the best of luck. the older the car the more issues you will have with the sunroof. i had a 95 that i stuck over 1gs into just the sunroof alone and it never worked properly. it had every problem from the motor sensor was bad, both cables had to be replaced, came off track...i had it for 5 years and never used it once ( so like i said...good luck...i can only hope its a minor fix!
