2019 Jetta 1.4T SEL automatic surging when downshifting to a stop.

This isn’t “normal” jerking that I’ve been reading about that’s associated with these transmissions. Every time the car downshifts it feels like either the brakes let loose or the engine is overcoming the brakes. It’s not just a split second issue while the shift is occurring. It’s like the braking power “moves” after a shift. Sport mode reduces it, but is still there. Regular drive mode is flat out dangerous as you crawl to a stop and the car downshifts it’ll all of a sudden start driving forward at a speed as if you’re not even on the brake forcing you to press the brake in more.

It’s not a constant issue either. Didn’t notice it when I took the car for a test drive just yesterday. Just happens intermittently. I’ve tried disabling front assist thinking some electronic mishap is occurring there but the issue persists. I’ve asked the dealer about it and waiting on a response. I haven’t found anything about this specific behavior for the MK7. Car’s got 27k miles.
