2011 TDI Automatic Trany Feels Terrible
 

Hey guys, I was hoping to get a little insight or advice on the problems I've been having with my Jetta's automatic transmission lately. Here is a description of the issues I've been having:

Feels terrible at any speed below about 60km/h. Most noticeable when cold or in stop-and-go traffic. Power engages and disengages harshly, shifts rough, occasionally shifts rapidly between gears, occasionally downshifts to very high RPM, throttle and engine response is very delayed, clunks when shifting from drive to reverse or vice versa.

These problems have been getting worse and worse as time goes by. What do you think the problem is? Is my transmission shot? I had the car in about a month ago for service, they updated the transmission software which helped a bit with the engine/throttle response, but the overall problem definitelty has not been fixed.

Well a 2011 Jetta should still be under warranty take it back to a dealer for sorting.

Unless its done high mileage then get you car plugged into a scanner to see if any error codes are logged in the ecu and post them.

It wasn't showing any codes as of about a month ago. The car only has 55000km so it's still under warranty. I have a service appointment at the VW dealership on Monday the 29th.

I just don't want them telling me its normal and avoiding spending the big bucks to fix it properly. This has happened before when I complained about the throttle response issue.

I am also agree with Keithuk here that if your car is in warranty period. So, you must take your vehicle towards the deal. Because, they totally able to fix this problem with no cost of-course.
