2007 Jetta Wolfsburg Tranny Problem
I bought the vehicle about 6 months ago with 108K on it. The clutch I knew was close to going when I bought it for $6000. Both my 16-year-old twins learned to drive a 5-speed on it and killed the clutch. I just sunk $1240 into a new clutch...last week. I get home from a business trip and drive the car, grinds going into 1st gear unless it is stopped. Transmission shop says it is a blocker bearing and is willing to pull the tranny, tear it down, and replace the blocker(s) for just under $1000 plus one year parts and labor warranty. The car is really in excellent condition other than the tranny issue and a blend air door motor. Do you guys on here think it is worth sinking the additional $1000 to fix the tranny or should I just sell if for what I can and move on? This was my first VW and so far, I am not impressed with the tranny's anyway.

Welcome to the forum Chris.
Well the first thing to check is the hydraulics try bleeding the master cylinder and slave cylinder they do give trouble.
The brake master cylinder reservoir is the same for the clutch master cylinder make sure its topped up.
