Default 2006 Jetta 2.5 Modifications?

Hey Folks,

My first posting here. I inherited a 2006 Jetta and would love to start moding the bad boy. Only problem is I don't know where to start. I'm wondering if the 2.5 engine has potential for increase hp (air intake, turbo, exhaust?). Also wondering what you folks have done and recommend.

Looking forward to being here.

C

There isn't much we can do to the 2.5L engine, doesn't add too much horses unless you go force induction.
I would go for some cheap exterior mods like the following, my buddy with a jetta has done those simple mods.

I'm noticing that there aren't many options for the 2.5 in terms of upgrade. In fact, I think there is only one - an intake kit. Do you think it is because the 2.5 is a new breed? I have to believe that there will be more options as time goes on. It is going to be such a wide spread engine.

Thanks for the links, I am digging the tail light LEDs. The only question I have is with regards to VAG-COM knowledge. Does this mean I would have to go to a mechanic to have the brains recalibrated?
