VAG Error Code: 16648 EOBD II Error Code: P0264 Fault Location: Injector 2 (N31) - Circuit Low/Short Circuit to Earth Possible Cause: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active. Engine Misfire. Engine Run Rough. Low MPG. Fuse(s). Wiring/Connector(s) short to earth. Injector 2 (N31). Engine Control Module (ECM). Tech Notes: Clogged or partially clogged fuel injector can cause this code. Start by performing an injector flush before replacing the injector. Description: Code P0264 is triggered when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects a low voltage in the Fuel Injector 2 Circuit. During normal conditions the Engine Control Module (ECM) turns the Fuel Injectors ON and OFF in the Fuel Injection System. VAG Error Code: 16829 EOBD II Error Code: P0445 Fault Location: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Purge Solenoid (N80) - Short Circuit Possible Cause: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active. Wiring/Connector(s) short circuit. Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Purge Solenoid (N80). Engine Control Module (ECM). When is the code detected?: An excessively high voltage signal is sent to Engine Control Module (ECM) through the valve. Description: The Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve controls flow rate of fuel vapour from the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System canister. The opening of the vapour by-pass passage in the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System canister purge volume control solenoid valve changes to control the flow rate. The Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System canister purge volume control solenoid valve repeats ON/OFF operation according to the signal sent from the Engine Control Module (ECM). The opening of the valve varies for optimum engine control. The optimum value stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM) is determined by considering various engine conditions. When the engine is operating, the flow rate of fuel vapour from the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System canister is regulated as the air flow changes. The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve uses a ON/OFF duty to control the flow rate of fuel vapour from the EVAP canister. The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve is moved by ON/OFF pulses from the Engine Control Module (ECM). The longer the ON pulse, the greater the amount of fuel vapour that will flow through the valve. VAG Error Code: 16645 EOBD II Error Code: P0261 Fault Location: Injector 1 (N30) - Circuit Low/Short Circuit to Earth Possible Cause: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active. Engine Misfire. Engine Run Rough. Low MPG. Fuse(s). Wiring/Connector(s) short to earth. Injector 1 (N30). Engine Control Module (ECM). When is the code detected?: Code P0261 is triggered when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects a low voltage in the Fuel Injector 1 Circuit. During normal conditions the Engine Control Module (ECM) turns the Fuel Injectors ON and OFF in the Fuel Injection System. VAG Error Code: 16654 EOBD II Error Code: P0270 Fault Location: Injector 4 (N33) - Circuit Low/Short Circuit to Earth Possible Cause: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active. Engine Misfire. Engine Run Rough. Low MPG. Fuse(s). Wiring/Connector(s) short to earth. Injector 4 (N33). Engine Control Module (ECM). Tech Notes: Clogged or partially clogged fuel injector can cause this code. Start by performing an injector flush before replacing the injector. Description: Code P0270 is triggered when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects a low voltage in the Fuel Injector 4 Circuit. During normal conditions the Engine Control Module (ECM) turns the Fuel Injectors ON and OFF in the Fuel Injection System. VAG Error Code: 16651 EOBD II Error Code: P0267 Fault Location: Injector 3 (N32) - Circuit Low/Short Circuit to Earth Possible Cause: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active. Engine Misfire. Engine Run Rough. Low MPG. Fuse(s). Wiring/Connector(s) short to earth. Injector 3 (N32). Engine Control Module (ECM). Tech Notes: Clogged or partially clogged fuel injector can cause this code. Start by performing an injector flush before replacing the injector. Description: Code P0267 is triggered when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects a low voltage in the Fuel Injector 3 Circuit. During normal conditions the Engine Control Module (ECM) turns the Fuel Injectors ON and OFF in the Fuel Injection System. EOBD II Error Code: P2401 Fault Location: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Leak Detection Pump, Control - Circuit Low Possible Cause: Fuse(s). Wiring/Connector(s) short to earth. Evaporative Emission (EVAP) leak detection pump. Possible Solutions: Check/Replace Fuse(s). Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s). Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB). EOBD II Error Code: P2257 Fault Location: Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System, Control 'A' - Circuit Low Possible Cause: Fuse(s). Wiring/Connector(s) short to earth. Secondary air injection (AIR) pump relay (J229). Secondary air injection (AIR) pump. Secondary air injection (AIR) solenoid. Possible Solutions: Check/Replace Fuse(s). Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s). Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB). VAG Error Code: 16427 EOBD II Error Code: P0043 Fault Location: Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 3, Bank 1/Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor (O2S) 3, Bank 1, Heater Control - Circuit Low Possible Cause: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active. Fuse(s). Wiring/Connector(s) short to earth. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 3/Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor (O2S) 3. Engine Control Module (ECM). Possible Solutions: Check/Replace Fuse(s). Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s). Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB). Check Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 3, Bank 1/Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor (O2S) 3, Bank 1 heating circuit. Check/Replace Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 3, Bank 1/Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor (O2S) 3, Bank 1. Tech Notes: The code means that there is a problem with the heater element circuit of the heated oxygen sensor. Water getting inside the heated oxygen sensor connector can caused the heated oxygen sensor fuse to blow, which is a very common problem for this type codes. Before replacing the sensor, check for the condition of the heated oxygen sensor fuse and connector(s). When is the code detected?: The P0043 is set when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects an excessively low voltage through the heated oxygen sensor heater circuit. Description: Oxygen Sensors (O2S) or Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S) need to reach a minimum operating temperature of 750 degrees F to produce an accurate voltage signal. The faster the heated oxygen sensor reaches that temperature the faster the sensor will start sending an accurate signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM). In order to achieve the require temperature, a heater element is included inside the heated oxygen sensor. The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls the heated oxygen sensor heater element based on signals from the engine coolant temperature and engine load. The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls the heater element circuit by allowing current flow to ground. The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the voltage signal received through the heater element circuit and determines the state of the circuit by comparing the voltage detected with the factory specifications. VAG Error Code: 16421 EOBD II Error Code: P0037 Fault Location: Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (G130), Bank 1, Heater Control - Circuit Low Possible Cause: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.
