2002 Jetta Wheels/Tires Question
Hey guys, I have a 2002 6-cylinder Jetta and I'm wondering if these wheels/tires would work well for it? I don't want to spend the money on wheels that are not going to work for my car.
Any help or advice any of you can offer is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

post is now expired on craigslist. what i have heard as a general rule of thumb on wheels is don't go more than 2" larger than stock on rims. my car came with 16" alloys stock, and i have 18" on now. stock tires were 205/55r16. last tires i put on were 225/40zr18. just got new tires that are 235/40zr18. the larger tires are harder for the car to spin, and i have noticed that my car doesn't have quite as good of performance anymore with the 235s on.
without a little more detail from you on your car, i am guessing that your current tire size is 225/45r17. this means you are running 17x7" rims. getting wider rims gives the opportunity for a wider tire for better traction on dry, but in standing water and snow, will do worse for you. there are several factors that go into tire sizing.
