2002 Jetta 2.0 pissing out coolant
 

Hi guys I have a problem with my Jetta. I will top off the coolant tank start up my car and instantly the coolant or in this case the water(have been using water to test and mess around instead of wasting money on coolant) will begin to leak...The leak comes from the right middle to right rear of the engine I cant find any hoses with water on them but It was suggest it may be the coolant flange...I don't want to bring it to a shop because it will cost $ I don't have was hoping everyone here could help a youngin fix his car...any suggestions and help appreciated

Also a side note I have no water in my oil and I can drive the car but it begins to smoke under the hood because of the water hitting the motor

Sounds like the coolant flange, I had to replace mine, wasn't too difficult...if you haven't already replaced it, follow the coolant hoses down to the bottom right of the motor...you'll feel a plastic piece where they all connect (the coolant flange), feel underneath it, if it's wet, then its cracked (can also dry it off, run the car, then feel it again to be sure thats what it is)...these are known to go on the Jetta's as they are plastic, hope this helps!
