2001 Jetta VR6 Stutter

After driving 30 minutes or more at highway speeds my 2001 Jetta VR6 will stutter after coming to a complete stop. It does it when the car starts to get to the top of 1st gear and stutters a bit while the RPMs jump about 500 to a 1,000. I took it to the local dealer and they could not find a problem other than carbon buildup in the throttle body. They cleaned the carbon out but the car still does it. They even "reset" the transmission in hopes that would do it.

Is this a transmission problem? Has anyone else experienced this problem? The car has 38,000 miles, so it hasn't been driven a ton.

Thank you

RE: 2001 Jetta VR6 Stutter

I have a 2001 vr6 also, it has 34000 miles on it and it is going in the shop on sept. 5th, the car revs up shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, it overheats and the air quits running, check engine light goes on/off intermitently and on 1 occasion all the idiot lights on the dash came on last week and i had to reset clock and tripmeter reset itself to 00000
