2000 Jetta GL cranks but won't start
PLEASE HELP!!
I have a Jetta GL 2.0 AEG engine. It will turn over fine but will not start. Prior to this problem, I have replaced spark plugs, plug wires, ignition coil and starter. Drove the car for over 1,000 miles. Parked it one night and the next morning all it would do was crank with no start. I do not have any spark coming from the ignition coil. i have again replaced the ignition coil but did not correct problem. I did notice the last few times I drove it, that it did not start as easily as usually does. I have checked the fuel pump and fuel pressure. All that is fine. It also has a new battery on it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
I don't know if your motor has a 109 relay in the engine compartment fuse/relay box but if it has then this could be your problem. It will crank all day but never start its the main power feed to the ecu.
These do go faulty quite often so if you have one its worth carrying a spare in the motor.
Its nice to see you've given you full car spec it would be even nicer you see it in your signature along with the year. https://volkswagenforum.com/forum/ne...gnature-34185/
If this doesn't cure your problem then you need to get your motor scanned for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them.

Crankshaft position sensor
The crankshaft position sensor (also referred to as the engine position sensor) is located on the lower portion of the engine block, right behind the oil filter housing. It's connector is remotely located on the left side of the ignition coil. It is a gray connector.
Replacing this sensor was fairly simple. I was able to access the bolt from the top of the engine compartment but I had to actually remove the sensor by going underneath the front end. The hardest part of this was was removing the old sensor from the block after the bolt was removed.
