2000 Jetta DTC HELP!!!
Got a 2000 jetta vr6 fixed everything but this problem, when i connect a scanner displayes p0113 Intake air temp sensor, called VW no such thing on the vr6 model, take to a mechanic he has no clue and says he scans once it didnt show up the code and then did it again and it showed so the scanner detects it on and off but check engine light always on, changed maf already where i read the iat is together as one piece help can pass smog with this/:(

Well its shown that code for a reason, what scanner is he using? VAG Error Code: 16497 EOBD II Error Code: P0113 Fault Location: Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor (G42) - Signal too High Possible Cause: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active. Fuse(s). Wiring/Connector(s) from/to Intake Air Temperature Sensor (G42) faulty. Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor (G42). Possible Solutions: Check/Replace Fuse(s). Check Wiring/Connector(s) from/to Intake Air Temperature Sensor (G42). Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB). Check/Replace Intake Air Temperature Sensor (G42). When is the code detected?: An excessively high voltage from the sensor is sent to Engine Control Module (ECM). Description: The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is built into mass air flow sensor or in some vehicles mounted to the air filter duct housing. The sensor detects intake air temperature and transmits a signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The temperature sensing unit uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. Electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases in response to the temperature rise. The Intake Air Temperature signal is used as an input for various systems in the vehicle. hahahaha well found the problem took to a electrician and he said the main computer ground connection was bad and eliminated the check engine light there was no actual fault in the car thanks for the help any way.:)
